Circuit Description
Control - Terminal 1@G18 High Pressure Fuel Pump The output circuit is switched to ground to activate the component.
The output is PWM controlled.
Control - Terminal 2@G18 High Pressure Fuel Pump The output circuit is switched to 12 V to activate the component.
Component Description
G18 High Pressure Fuel Pump A hydraulic pump is a mechanical device that converts mechanical power into hydraulic energy.
K20 Engine Control Module The control module contains a microprocessor used to process input data to control outputs.
The control module controls a series of actuators to ensure optimal engine performance. The control module does this by reading values from a variety of sensors, interprets the data and adjusts the engine actuators accordingly.
Fuel Pressure Regulator A solenoid valve is an electro-mechanically operated valve. The valve is controlled by an electric current through the solenoid.

G18 High Pressure Fuel Pump

A lobe on the camshaft pushes on a follower or roller that moves a piston. The piston in the pump has two cycles, suction and compression. The fuel is pushed into the low-pressure side of the fuel system when the solenoid is open.

Fuel Pressure Regulator@G18 High Pressure Fuel Pump

The fuel pressure regulator is a solenoid valve that restricts the flow of fuel to the high pressure fuel pump and thereby controls the pressure the pump can produce.
