Circuit/System Verification

NOTE:
The engine oil level and condition is critical to the correct operation of the system.The engine oil condition has a major impact on the camshaft actuator system. Debris in the oil can interfere with the camshaft position actuator solenoid valve and the mechanical camshaft actuator operation. Inspect for dirty or degraded engine oil.
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P0010, P0013, P0020, P0023, P0335, P0336, P0340, P0341, P0345, P0346, P0365, P0366, P0390, P0391, P2088, P2089, P2090, P2091, P2092, P2093, P2094, P2095 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- Engine - Idling - At normal operating temperature.
- Verify DTC P0016, P0017, P0018, or P0019 is not set.
- If the DTC is set
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Verify the following conditions do not exist:
- B23 Camshaft Position Sensor - Incorrect installation
- B26 Crankshaft Position Sensor - Incorrect installation
- Q6 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve - Incorrect installation/Stuck Closed/Stuck Open
- Q84 Camshaft Position Actuator Park Lock Solenoid Valve - Stuck Closed/Stuck Open
- Reluctor Ring - Misaligned@Crankshaft
- Timing BeltorTiming Chain - Excessive play
- Timing Belt Tensioner or Timing Chain Tensioner - Incorrect installation
- If a condition exists - Repair or replace as necessary
- If none of the conditions exists - Refer to step 2.
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
One of the above conditions still exist.
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
