Fluid Pressure Directed in Preparation for a Shift
Manual Valve
Mechanically controlled by the gear selector lever, the manual valve is in the Park (P) position and prevents line pressure from the pressure regulator valve from entering the reverse and drive circuits.
1 - 2 - 7 - 8 Reverse Control Solenoid Valve Assembly
The 1-2-7-8 reverse control solenoid is energized (HIGH) allowing actuator feed fluid to enter the S1 VFS SIG fluid circuit which applies fluid pressure against the S1 VFS ACCUM spring force and against the 1278R control valve spring force. This allows line fluid to pass through into the 1278R CLUTCH fluid circuit.
1 - 2 - 7 - 8 Reverse Clutch Assembly
1278R CLU fluid is routed to the 1278 reverse clutch piston to hold the piston against spring force which holds the 1278R clutch plates.
#14 Ball Check Valve
Line fluid travels through the 1278R control valve orifice #40 into the 1278R CLU FDBK fluid circuit and into the #14 ball check valve unseating the ball allowing fluid into the ACT FEED circuit.
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 Reverse Control Solenoid Valve Assembly
The 1-2-3-4-5 reverse control solenoid is energized (HIGH) allowing actuator feed fluid to enter the S2 VFS SIG fluid circuit which applies fluid pressure against the S2 VFS ACCUM spring force and against the 12345R control valve spring force. This allows line fluid to pass through into the 12345R CLUTCH fluid circuit.
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 Reverse Clutch Assembly
12345R CLU fluid is routed to the 12345 reverse clutch piston to hold the piston against spring force which holds the 12345R clutch plates.
