Installation Procedure

    Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable (2) into the vehicle.

  2. Connect the automatic transmission range selector lever cable terminal (6) to the shift lever pin (7).
  3. Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable (2) to the transmission control base by pressing down until it seats into place.
  4. Slide the automatic transmission range selector lever cable retainer forward (5).
  5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable bracket bolt (3) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  7. NOTE:

    Ensure the grommet is properly oriented.

  8. Install the grommet and automatic transmission range selector lever cable (1) into the floor panel with alignment key opening.

    Install and tighten the automatic transmission range selector lever cable guide nut (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

    Install and tighten the 2 automatic transmission range selector lever cable retainer bolts (3) to the transmission crossmember to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  12. Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable into the automatic transmission range selector lever cable bracket and ensure cable is fully seated.
  13. WARNING:

    After installing the transmission range selector shift cable, pull up and push down on ALL connections to verify that the connections are fully seated and properly engaged. Failure to perform this task can result in the vehicle not being able to shift into PARK causing potential vehicle damage and bodily injury.

  14. Install the automatic transmission range selector lever cable bracket (2).
  15. Install and tighten the automatic transmission range selector lever cable retainer bracket bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
