Installation Procedure

  1. Fig 1: Identifying Oil Pan Components With Tightening Sequence

    NOTE:

    Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant

    Place a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant on the block pan rail and the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  2. Oil Pan (2) - Install
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Oil Pan Bolt (3) M8 x 20 - Tighten in sequence [7x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  4. Oil Pan Bolt (4) M6 x 151 - Install NEW and tighten in sequence [3x]
    1. First Pass: 7 N.m (62 lb in)
    2. Final Pass: 180 degrees
  5. Oil Pan Bolt (5) M8 x 66 - Tighten in sequence [5x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  6. Oil Pan Bolt (6) M8 x 36 - Tighten in sequence [2x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

    Install the lower transmission to engine bolts. Transmission Replacement (M5T with LTG)

  8. Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket - Install - Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (LGX)
  9. Install the transmission fluid cooler pipe clip bolts at the oil pan. Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (LGX With M13, With 1LE Package)Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (LGX With M5T, With V03)Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (LGX With M5T, Without V03)
  10. Engine Mount Bracket - Install [2x]
  11. Engine Oil Cooler Inlet Pipe - Install - Engine Oil Cooler Pipe Replacement (LGX, Inlet)Engine Oil Cooler Pipe Replacement (LGX, Outlet)
  12. Engine Oil Cooler Outlet Pipe - Install - Engine Oil Cooler Pipe Replacement (LGX, Inlet)Engine Oil Cooler Pipe Replacement (LGX, Outlet)

    Electrical Connector (1) @Engine Oil Level Indicator Switch - Connect

  14. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - Install - Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (LGX - Coupe)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (LGX - Convertible)
  15. Oil Level Indicator Tube - Install - Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement 
  16. Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil.
  17. Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
