    CAUTION:

    If any malfunction is experienced which may cause debris to enter the oil supply, you must replace the engine oil cooler and hoses if equipped. Debris in the engine oil cooler and oil cooler hoses may be pulled back into the engine causing severe engine damage.

    NOTE:

    A constant and continuous flow of clean engine oil is required to properly prime the engine. Be sure to use an approved engine oil.

    Remove the oil filter cap.

  2. Install a NEW oil filter.
  3. Lubricate the threads of the oil filter cap with clean engine oil.
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the oil filter cap and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  6. Remove the oil pressure sending unit from the oil filter adapter.
  7. Install the EN-21867-6  fitting.

    Install the flexible hose to the adapter and open the valve.

  9. Pump the handle on the EN-45299  preluber to flow a minimum of 1 - 1.9 liters (1 - 2 quarts) of engine oil. Observe the flow of engine oil through the flexible hose and into the engine assembly.
  10. Close the valve and remove the flexible hose and adapter from the engine.
  11. Install the oil pressure sending unit and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  12. Top-off the engine oil to the proper level.
