Installation Procedure
Ensure the cylinder head locating pins (5) are securely mounted in the engine block deck face.
- Install a NEW cylinder head gasket (4) using the deck face locating pins for retention.
- Cylinder Head (3) - Install

WARNING:
The noise cancelling foam component MUST be replaced if it has been exposed to engine fluids. Failure to replace the noise canceling foam component that has been exposed to engine fluids may result in an engine fire resulting in catastrophic engine damage, and possible injury or death.
Inspect the fuel injection fuel rail noise shield (1) and replace if it has been exposed to engine fluids.
- Cylinder Head Bolt M11 x 178 (4) - Install NEW and tighten in sequence [8x]
- First Pass: 60 N.m (44 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 185 degrees
- Cylinder Head Bolt M8 x 80.8 (5) - Install NEW and tighten in sequence
- First Pass: 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 75 degrees
Camshaft Carrier-Right Side (2) - Install - Camshaft Carrier Resealing - Right Side
- Camshaft-Right Side - Install - Camshaft Replacement - Right Side
- Position wire harness and connect as necessary.
- Install ground wire and ground wire bolt. Tighten bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
- Fuel Pump - Install - Fuel Pump Replacement

Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield (1) - Install - Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement
- Camshaft Timing Chain-Right Side - Install - Camshaft Timing Chain Assembly Replacement - Right Side
Refer to Fastener Caution .
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
