Camshaft Timing Chain Component Removal - Left Side

WARNING:
The timing chain tensioner plunger is under high tension and must be retained by using the tensioner retraction pin during removal or installation of the timing chain tensioner. Failure to retain the timing chain tensioner plunger may cause it to be ejected with intense force and cause personal injury.
Rotate the engine counter clockwise until the left hand bank camshaft flats with laser etched markings are straight up in relation to the cylinder head. The crankshaft key way will be at approximately the 11 o'clock position.
- Reset the timing chain tensioner plunger using your thumb and EN-52234 Timing Chain Tensioner Retaining Pins or a 1/8" drill bit to retain the plunger.
- Compress the plunger into the body and lock the left timing chain tensioner by inserting EN-52234 Timing Chain Tensioner Retaining Pins or 1/8" drill bit into the access hole in the side of the left timing chain tensioner body.
- Slowly release pressure on the left timing chain tensioner. The left timing chain tensioner should remain compressed.
- Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Timing Chain Tensioner- Left Side (2) - Remove
- Timing Chain Housing Gasket (3) - Remove and DISCARD
- Timing Chain Guide Bolt (4) - Remove [2x]
- Timing Chain Guide- Left Side (5) - Remove
- Timing Chain Guide Bolt (6) - Remove [2x]
- Timing Chain Guide- Left Side (7) - Remove
- Timing Chain- Left Side (8) - Remove
- Crankshaft Sprocket (9) - Remove
