Engine Oil Life Reset: Description

The Oil Life Monitor system is used to inform the driver when the next service interval is required. In order to determine when the next oil change is needed the control module K20 monitors the following:
- Distance Traveled
- Engine Coolant Temperature
- Engine Load
- Engine Oil Temperature
- Engine Speed
- Time Since Last Oil Change Warning = 1 Year
- Vehicle Speed
If an oil change is required, the Change Oil Now message or indicator will be activated when the control module K9 receives a serial data message from the control module K20.
