The 10 speed transmission has four speed sensors mounted internally to the transmission case above the valve body:

  1. B14A Transmission Output Shaft Speed Sensor
  2. B14DB Transmission Intermediate Speed Sensor 2
  3. B14C Transmission Input Shaft Speed Sensor
  4. B14DA Transmission Intermediate Speed Sensor 1

Sensor Type=Two Wire Hall Effect.

The TCM has two 9V Reference outputs; 9V1 and 9V2. 9V1 is used for B14C Transmission Input Shaft Speed Sensorand B14DB Transmission Intermediate Speed Sensor 2. 9V2 is used for B14DA Transmission Intermediate Speed Sensor 1 and B14A Transmission Output Shaft Speed Sensor. The scan tool displays the input signal as a RPM value. The TCM uses these speed sensor inputs to determine transmission line pressure, shift patterns, correct gear ratio and the torque converter clutch slip speed.
