NOTE: Callouts items in the following chart represent components shown in graphic above.
Callout Component Name
Preliminary Procedure
Air Cleaner Resonator Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct to Engine) , or Air Cleaner Resonator Replacement (Diagonal Brace to Air Cleaner Resonator) , or Air Cleaner Resonator Replacement (Dash to Diagonal Brace)
1 Drive Belt Tensioner
CAUTION:

Do not completely rotate the drive belt tensioner when removing the drive belt. Instead, rotate the drive belt tensioner slowly and only far enough to remove the belt from the tensioner pulley. If the tensioner dampener is compressed too far, or too quickly, the seal on the tensioner can be damaged.

CAUTION:

When removing the drive belt, special care must be taken to avoid damaging the tensioner. After removing the drive belt, SLOWLY release the tensioner. Releasing the tensioner too quickly or freely will result in damage to the tensioner and it will need to be replaced.

Procedure
Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise to release the drive belt tension.
NOTE:

If belt is being replaced because the belt broke, the tensioner must also be replaced. It his highly likely that the tensioner over extended and is damaged.

Procedure

  1. Slide the drive belt off of the belt generator pulley.
  2. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner.
