Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

  1. Remove the plenum front panel. Plenum Front Panel Replacement (LTG LGX)Plenum Front Panel Replacement (LT1 LT4)
  2. Remove the outer fuel pump insulator. Fuel Pump Insulator Replacement (Inner)Fuel Pump Insulator Replacement (Outer)
  3. Disconnect the heater inlet pipe from the heater core only. Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LT1 LT4)Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LGX)Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LTG)
  4. Disconnect the heater outlet pipe from the heater core only. Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LT1 LT4)Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LGX)Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LTG)
  5. Power Brake Booster - Remove - Power Brake Booster Replacement 
  6. Without removing the steering shafts from the vehicle, separate the upper intermediate steering shaft from the mid intermediate steering shaft. Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
  7. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly.     Release the brake pipe from the retaining clips (1).

    Release the brake pipe from the retaining clips (1) on the cowl.

    Release the brake pipe from the retaining clip (1).

    Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve primary brake pipe fitting (1) at the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).

  12. Plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  13. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve primary brake pipe.
