Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P00E9, P00EA, P00EB, P00EC, P007C, P007D, P007E, P10D6, P10D7, P10D8, P0181, P2610 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- Verify the following parameters are within 20°C (36°F) of each other:
- Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Coolant Inlet Temperature Sensor
- Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Temperature
- Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor 2
- If not in the specified range
- {Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Coolant Inlet Temperature Sensor} Refer to: DTC P00E0-P00E2
- {Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Temperature} Refer to: DTC P007C-P007E or P10D6-P10D8
- {Start-Up Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor 2} Refer to: DTC P007C-P007E or P10D6-P10D8
- Go to next step: If in the specified range
- Engine - Idling
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Charge Air Cooler Coolant Inlet Temperature Sensor = -39 to 150°C (-38 to 302°F) and changes
- If not in the specified range or does not change
- Refer to: DTC P00E0-P00E2
- Go to next step: If in the specified range and changes
- Perform the action while monitoring the parameter: Charge Air Cooler Coolant Inlet Temperature Sensor
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B193A Charge Air Cooler Inlet Temperature Sensor - The value should not spike or drop out.
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module - The value should not spike or drop out.
- If the value spikes or drops out
Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal (s) / Electrical Connector (s)
- Go to next step: If the value does not spike or drop out
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Verify the following conditions do not exist: M10 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump & Cooling System
- Coolant = Correct level - Refer to: Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 LM2) , or Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static LM2) , or Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 LM2 with RC1) , or Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static LM2 with RC1)
- Leaking - Refer to: Loss of Coolant
- Missing components
- Stuck On
- Visible Damage
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
NOTE:
To minimize the effects of residual engine heat and heating elements inside the sensor, perform step 3 of this procedure only if the ignition has been Off for longer than 8 h.
