Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system:
    • B17 Barometric Pressure Sensor
    • B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
    • B65 Intake Manifold Pressure and Air Temperature Sensor
    • B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor
    • B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor
    • B130 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor
    • B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensor
    • M122 Exhaust Pressure Regulator Valve
    • Q17 Fuel Injector
    • Go to next step: If a related DTC is not set 
  3. Verify the condition does not exist:
    • Air Cleaner Element - Saturated with water/Restricted
    • Exhaust Gas Recirculation System - Leaking/Restricted
    • Exhaust System - Leaking/Missing components/Restricted - Refer to: Symptoms - Engine Exhaust
    • Induction System - Leaking/Restricted - Refer to: Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis
    • Q20 Intake Air Flow Valve - Binding or Sticking/Restricted
    • If a condition exists 

      Repair or replace as necessary

    • Go to next step: If no condition exists 
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Replace the component: Q14B Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve 2

    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not set 
  5. All OK.
