Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Front Wheelhouse Liner - Left Side and Right Side - Remove - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement

    Exhaust Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove

  4. Exhaust Front Pipe Heat Shield (2) - Remove

    Exhaust Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove

  6. Exhaust Front Pipe Heat Shield (2) - Remove

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Heated Oxygen and Oxygen Sensor Caution .

    NOTE:
    • The heated oxygen sensor in-line connector and louvered end MUST be kept clear of all grease, dirt, and other contaminants. Do NOT use cleaning solvents of any type. Do NOT drop or roughly handle the sensor.
    • The heated oxygen sensor MAY be difficult to remove when the engine temperature is less than 48°C (120°F).

    Electrical Connector @ Heated Oxygen Sensor - Bank 1 Sensor 1 - Disconnect

  8. Using a suitable tool, remove the heated oxygen sensor - bank 1 sensor 1 (1).

    Electrical Connector @ Heated Oxygen Sensor - Bank 1 Sensor 2 - Disconnect

  10. Using a suitable tool, remove the heated oxygen sensor - bank 1 sensor 2 (1).

    Electrical Connector @ Heated Oxygen Sensor - Bank 2 Sensor 1 - Disconnect

  12. Using a suitable tool, remove the heated oxygen sensor - bank 2 sensor 1 (1).

    Electrical Connector @ Heated Oxygen Sensor - Bank 2 Sensor 2 - Disconnect

  14. Using a suitable tool, remove the heated oxygen sensor - bank 2 sensor 2 (1).

    Exhaust Front Pipe Nut-Left Side (1) - Remove [3x]

    Exhaust Front Pipe Nut-Right Side (1) - Remove [3x]

  17. Lower and support the exhaust system as necessary.

    Exhaust System Seal-Left Side (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    Exhaust System Seal-Right Side (1) - Remove and DISCARD

  20. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.

    Automatic Transmission Fluid Pan Bolt (1) - Remove [16x]

  22. Automatic Transmission Fluid Pan (2) - Remove
    23. NOTE:

    The fluid pan gasket is reusable. Inspect the gasket to determine if it may be reused. If the gasket is stuck to the case or pan, it should be replaced.

    Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]

    25. CAUTION:

    Pull the fluid filter assembly straight out to avoid damage. Do not bend or twist the filter neck.

  25. Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter (2) - Remove
  26. Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD
