High/Low Shift Components Cleaning and Inspection

- Inspect all components or sub-components and perform any repair procedure necessary to fix the damage. If the damage cannot be repaired, replace the component or sub-component as indicated.
- Clean all components in cleaning solvent and air dry.
- Inspect the transfer case actuator cam retaining ring (1) for ring for wear or damage.
- Inspect the transfer case actuator cam spacer (2) for wear or damage.
- Inspect the transfer case actuator cam (3) for wear on the roller surface and damage to the splines. Witness marks on the splines are normal.
- Inspect the transfer case control actuator shaft (4) for excessive wear. The component must be replaced if damage is found.
- Transfer case actuator shaft gear teeth (5)
- Inspect for chipped teeth, excessively worn gear surfaces, and debris embedded in the root of the teeth.
- Inspect the shaft splines for excessive wear. Witness marks on the splines are normal.
