Component Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensor
  3. Test the resistance between the test points: Terminal 1 & Terminal 2
  4. Verify the value is within the range listed in the table: Temperature Versus Resistance (B131A Exhaust Temperature Sensor 1) , or Temperature Versus Resistance (B130B Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor 2) , or Temperature Versus Resistance (B130A Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor and B131B, B131C Exhaust Temperature Sensor 2, 3)
    • If not in the specified range 

      Replace the component: B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensor

    • Go to next step: If in the specified range 
  5. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensor

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  6. All OK.
