Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to SIR Warning .

CAUTION:

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

CAUTION:

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.

  3. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) - Remove [2x]
  4. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  5. Windshield Garnish Molding-Right Side (3) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Left side show, right side similar.

    Fold the assist handle downward and hold. (2)

  7. Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts.
  8. Roof Rail Assist Handle Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
  9. Roof Rail Assist Handle- Right Side (2) - Remove

    Sunshade Retainer Bolt Cover (1) - Remove

  11. Sunshade Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]
  12. Squeeze the tabs at the base of the sunshade (3) to detach it from the roof panel and allow the headliner with the sunshade attached to be lowered.
  13. Sunshade-Right Side (3) - Reposition

    Move the front seat fully forward.

  15. Use a flat bladed plastic tool between the center pillar center trim panel (1) and the center pillar upper trim panel to disengage the upper retaining clips (2).
  16. Pull from both sides of the center pillar center trim panel (1) to release the middle and lower retaining clips (2).

    Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap (1) - Remove

  19. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (2) - Remove

    Pull the center pillar upper trim panel (1) toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the retaining clips.

  21. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) - Reposition

    Liftgate Weatherstrip (1) - Reposition

    Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt Cap (1) - Remove

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  26. Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) - Reposition

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  28. Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1) outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

    Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) - Remove

  30. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) - Remove

    Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) - Remove

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

    Place the coat hook (2) in the open position.

  35. Coat Hook Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
  36. Coat Hook- Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs on the rear seat position center reading and courtesy lamp (1).

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs on the cargo center courtesy lamp (1).

    3rd Row Seat Belt Guide Cover (1) - Open

  40. Rear Seat Belt Guide Bolt (2) - Remove

    3rd Row Seat Belt Guide (1) - Reposition

  42. Using a suitable trim tool, gently pry and pull downwards on the rear seat belt opening bezel (2) to release the retaining clip.
  43. Rear Seat Belt Opening Bezel (2) - Remove

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.

  45. Rear Seat Center Belt Opening Bezel-3rd Row Seat (1) - Remove
  46. Feed the 3rd row seat center belt through the rear seat center belt opening bezel (1).

    Lower the right rear section of the headlining trim panel (1).

  48. Lower the right rear section of the headlining rear trim panel, if equipped.

    NOTE:
    • Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.
    • Ensure the pucks are removed with the nuts.

    Luggage Carrier Nut (1) - Remove [4x]
