Component Testing

A23C Liftgate Latch-Dynamic Test

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: A23C Liftgate Latch
  3. Manually move the A23C Liftgate Latch to the Latched position
  4. Connect a jumper wire between the test points: control terminal 3 & Ground
  5. Momentarily connect a 15 A fused jumper wire between the test points: Control terminal 4 & 12 V

    Verify the A23C Liftgate Latch performs the Unlatch function

    • If the A23C Liftgate Latch does not Unlatch 

      Replace the component: A23C Liftgate Latch

    • Go to next step: If the A23C Liftgate Latch does Unlatch 
  6. All OK.

S45A Liftgate Control Switch - Exterior

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: S45A Liftgate Control Switch - Exterior
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Not Pressed
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: S45A Liftgate Control Switch - Exterior

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  4. Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Pressed
    • If 3 ohms or greater 

      Replace the component: S45A Liftgate Control Switch - Exterior

    • Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms
