Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify the coolant in the charge air cooler coolant reservoir is at the proper level.
  2. Verify that the vacuum lines to the supercharger components are properly routed. Refer to Compressor Air Intake Supercharger Description and Operation .
  3. Ignition ON. Verify the KR18 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Relay clicks and the M10 Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump turns ON and OFF when commanding the Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump ON and OFF with a scan tool.
    • Go to next step: If the relay clicks and the pump turns ON and OFF 
  4. Verify the conditions listed below do not exist:
    • Damaged, restricted or improperly installed Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator.
    • Damaged, restricted or improperly installed Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator linkage.
    • Leaks at the supercharger manifold gaskets and supercharger intake plenum.
    • Damaged or worn supercharger components or cover. Refer to Compressor Air Intake Supercharger Cleaning and Inspection (LT4)
    • Leaking or restricted vacuum hoses and connections.
      • If a condition exists 

        Repair or replace the component as necessary.

      • Go to next step: If none of the conditions exist 
  5. Verify the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator rod is fully extended and the bypass valve linkage is resting on the mechanical stop.
    • If the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator rod is not fully extended or the bypass valve linkage is not resting on the mechanical stop 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator rod is fully extended and the bypass valve linkage is resting on the mechanical stop 
  6. Engine idling.
  7. Verify the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator rod retracts after engine is started.
    • If the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator rod does not retract after the engine is started 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator rod is retracted 
  8. All OK.
