- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the boost signal hose from the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator, and connect the GE-23738-A to the hose barb.
- Verify the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator rod retracts and maintains 47.4 kPa (14 in Hg) of vacuum.
- If the rod does not retract and hold
- Ignition OFF Disconnect the actuator rod from the actuator linkage.
- Verify the supercharger bypass valve actuator rod retracts and maintains 47.4 kPa (14 in Hg) of vacuum.
- If the rod does not retract, replace the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator.
- Go to next step: If the rod retracts
- Verify the bypass valve linkage moves freely in Supercharger housing.
- If the bypass valve linkage does not move freely in Supercharger Housing.
Refer to Compressor Air Intake Supercharger Cleaning and Inspection (LT4)
- Go to next step: If the bypass valve linkage moves freely in Supercharger housing.
- If the bypass valve linkage does not move freely in Supercharger Housing.
- Replace the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator
- Go to next step: If the rod retracts
- Connect the GE-23738-A to the boost signal port at the supercharger.
- Engine idling.
- Verify vacuum is 47.4 kPa (14 in Hg) or greater
- If less than 47.4 kPa (14 in Hg)
Repair or replace components as necessary.
- Go to next step: If 47.4 kPa (14 in Hg) or greater
- If less than 47.4 kPa (14 in Hg)
- Replace the Supercharger Bypass Valve Actuator Boost Signal Hose.
