Removal Procedure

Remove oil pump. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement .

Rotate the crankshaft sprocket until the camshaft sprocket alignment mark (1) and the crankshaft sprocket alignment mark (2) are aligned.

Push back the timing chain tensioner (1) and install EN-46330 tension pin (2).

Remove and DISCARD the CMP actuator solenoid valve (1). Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement

WARNING:
Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Removal and Installation Warning .

Loosen and separate the CMP actuator and timing chain from the camshaft. Position fingers behind the actuator sprocket and pull the actuator away from the front of the camshaft. Never pull on the reluctor wheel when attempting to remove the actuator.

Remove the CMP actuator (1) and timing chain (2).

Insert a tie strap (1) through the center of the actuator and over the reluctor wheel.

Remove the crankshaft sprocket (4), and key (3).
Remove the timing chain tensioner bolts (2) and the timing chain tensioner (1).
