Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  2. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
  3. Remove the engine coolant manifold. Refer to Engine Coolant Manifold Replacement (LT1) , or Engine Coolant Manifold Replacement (LT4) .
  4. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Accessory (LT1) , or Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Accessory (LT4) .

    Disconnect the electrical connectors (1).

    Remove the front cover bolts (1-3).

  7. Remove front cover (4).
  8. Ensure to clean and inspect the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Cleaning and Inspection .
