Installation Procedure

Apply a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant on the engine front cover as shown (a). Apply a 5 mm (0.197 in) bead of RTV sealant on the engine front cover as shown (b). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
Install the front cover (4).
- Install the front cover bolts (1-3) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
Connect the electrical connectors (1).
- Install the engine coolant manifold. Refer to Engine Coolant Manifold Replacement (LT1) , or Engine Coolant Manifold Replacement (LT4) .
- Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
- Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Accessory (LT1) , or Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Accessory (LT4) .
- Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
