Circuit/System Verification
- Identify how to disable high voltage.
- Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
- Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
- Safety glasses with appropriate side shields when within 15 meters (50 feet) of the vehicle, either indoors or outdoors.
- Certified and up-to-date Class "0" Insulation gloves rated at 1000V with leather protectors.
- Visually and functionally inspect the gloves before use.
- Wear the Insulation gloves with leather protectors at all times when working with the high voltage battery assembly, whether the system is energized or not.
- Verify that no other DTCs are set.
- If any other DTCs are set
- Go to next step: No other DTCs are set
- Verify the battery charge cord is not connected.
- Vehicle On
- Verify with a scan tool, the hybrid/EV powertrain control module 2 Hybrid/EV Battery Cell State of Charge Variation is greater than 6.5%.
- If the value is greater than 6.5%
An individual cell group capacity concern exists. Refer to Hybrid/EV High Voltage Battery Reduced Range Analysis .
- Go to next step: If the value is 6.5% or less
- If the value is greater than 6.5%
- Verify DTC P0A7F is set.
- If DTC P0A7F is set
- Clear the DTC. Vehicle OFF, disconnect the 12 V battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Wait 30 seconds. Reconnect the 12 V battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Review and operate the vehicle according to the DTC Conditions for Running. Operate the vehicle for more than 10 minutes of city driving.
- Verify that DTC P0A7F does not reset.
- If DTC P0A7F resets
- Vehicle OFF, disable the high voltage at the A4 Hybrid/EV Battery Pack. Refer to High Voltage Disabling .
- Remove the A4 Hybrid/EV Battery Pack cover. Refer to Battery Upper Cover Replacement .
- Inspect all internal high voltage busbar/cable terminals for arc-flash damage.
- If high voltage terminal damage is present, replace the effected components.
- If high voltage terminal damage is not present, replace the A4 hybrid/EV battery pack.
- Go to next step: If DTC P0A7F does not reset
- All OK.
- Go to next step: If DTC P0A7F is not set
- All OK.
Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

Before working on any high voltage system, be sure to wear the following Personal Protection Equipment:
Failure to follow the procedures may result in serious injury or death.
Removal of the manual service disconnect outside of the High Voltage Disabling procedure may cause a DTC P0A7F to set.
Battery minimum state of charge must be 30% or greater before proceeding.
If the scan tool parameter is not available, program the hybrid/EV powertrain control module 2 with the latest software.
