Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Drain the transmission fluid. Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill (L3T)
Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Remove - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose (1) - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Replacement
Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe - Remove - Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement
Disconnect the control valve body transmission control module electrical connector (1), then unclip the 5 wiring harness retainers (2).
- position the battery positive cable out of the way.
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooling Heat Exchanger Inlet and Outlet Hose - Remove - Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooling Heat Exchanger Inlet and Outlet Hose Replacement (MRG)
Transmission Wiring Harness Bracket Nut (1) - Remove [3x]
- Transmission Wiring Harness Bracket (2, 3, 4) - Remove [3x]

Control Valve Body Cover Stud (1) - Remove [8x]
- Control Valve Body Cover Bolt (2) - Remove [4x]
Control Valve Body Cover (1) - Remove
- Control Valve Body Cover Seal (2) - Remove
- Control Valve Body Cover Wiring Connector Hole Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD
NOTE:
The control valve body cover seal is reusable. Inspect the seal to determine if it may be reused.
