Installation Procedure
Check the rubber seal (1) is inside the inlet air hose.
Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose (1) - Install
- NOTE:
DO NOT insert fingers inside quick connect to manipulate duct during disassembly/assembly. Rubber pad gloves increase risk to dislodge seal.
Position charge air cooler inlet air tube perpendicular to charge air cooler and install.
- Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose - Install
- Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
- Verify connection is properly made by pulling and pushing on the duct at the quick connector location.
Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Clamp Nut (1) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
Tube Clip (2) - Install [2x]
- Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install [3x]
Radiator Inlet Hose (3) @ Engine - Install
- Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (1) - Install - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Radiator Inlet Hose Clip (2) - Install
Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Install - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
Intake Air Duct (2) - Install - Intake Air Duct Replacement
Front Compartment Insulator (4) - Install - Front Compartment Insulator Replacement (Base)
- Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
- Start vehicle and listen for whistling at the charge air cooler inlet tube quick connect located at the charge air cooler.
Verify the charge air cooler inlet and outlet air tube quick connect seal condition and location prior to installation. Seal must be evenly seated in the quick connector body and sealing surface must be free of deformation and damage. Deformed or damaged seals can lead to reduced engine power and/or engine stalling.
