Component Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch
  3. Test for 6, 000 to 6, 250 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Signal terminal 3
    • If not between 6, 000 and 6, 250 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right

    • Go to next step: If between 6, 000 and 6, 250 ohms 
  4. Press and hold the switch: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Up
  5. Test for 600 to 660 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2
    • If not between 600 and 660 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 600 and 660 ohms 
  6. Press and hold the switch: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Down
  7. Test for 1, 900 to 2, 100 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2
    • If not between 1, 900 and 2, 100 ohms 

      Replace the component: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 1, 900 and 2, 100 ohms 
  8. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  9. All OK.
