Valve Rocker Arm and Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjuster Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Intake Side
   1. Intake Camshaft - Remove - Intake Camshaft Replacement

      NOTE:

      Many internal engine components will develop specific wear patterns on their friction surfaces.

      • The components MUST be separated, marked, or organized in a way to ensure the installation to their original location and position. Take precautions in order to prevent interchanging of parts.
      • Tag or mark each part immediately when removed. Indicate the location, direction, or orientation when necessary.

      Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjuster Arm (1) - Remove [6x]

   3. Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjuster (2) - Remove [6x]
2. Exhaust Side
   1. Exhaust Camshaft - Remove - Exhaust Camshaft Replacement

      NOTE:

Installation Procedure

1. Exhaust Side

      NOTE:

      Used hydraulic valve lash adjuster arms must be returned to the original position on the camshaft. If the camshaft is being replaced, the lash adjuster arms actuated by the camshaft must also be replaced.

      Lubricate the 6 hydraulic valve lash adjusters and the hydraulic valve lash adjuster arms with engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 

   2. Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjuster (2) - Install [6x]
   3. Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjuster Arm (1) - Install [6x]
   4. Exhaust Camshaft - Install - Exhaust Camshaft Replacement 
2. Intake Side

      NOTE:

      Used hydraulic valve lash adjuster arms must be returned to the original position on the camshaft. If the camshaft is being replaced, the lash adjuster arms actuated by the camshaft must also be replaced.
