Piston and Connecting Rod Disassemble

    Piston Compression Upper Ring (1) - Remove

  2. Piston Compression Lower Ring (2) - Remove
  3. Piston Oil Ring Rail (3) - Remove
  4. Piston Oil Ring Rail Spacer (4) - Remove
  5. Piston Oil Ring Rail (3) - Remove

    NOTE:

    The mark (4) and the arrow on the top of the piston must point against the same direction.

    Piston Pin Retainer (1, 3) - Remove [2x]

  7. Piston Pin (2) - Remove
  8. Connecting Rod (5) @ Piston - Remove

    NOTE:

    Some models may have pistons with an integral ring carrier design. It is important that all pistons match. When replacing pistons, ensure the correct matching pistons are used.

    Inspect the pistons. Ensure all pistons are either non-ring carrier design (1) or ring carrier design (2). Piston, Connecting Rod, and Bearing Cleaning and Inspection
