Lower Crankcase Extension Cleaning and Inspection

Clean the lower crankcase extension mating surface.
- Clean the lower crankcase extension (1). Remove all the sludge and the oil deposits.
- Inspect all threads.
- Inspect the lower crankcase extension for cracking near the transmission mounting points.
- Inspect the lower crankcase extension for cracking resulting from impact or flying road debris.
- Repair or replace the lower crankcase extension as necessary.
