Crankshaft and Bearing Installation

EN-45059-A Angle Meter
Equivalent regional tools: Special Tools .
- NOTE:
- Ensure that the guide lugs (1) are properly seated in their hole (4).
- If the old crankshaft bearing is reused, install it in the same position as removed.
Crankshaft Upper Bearing (2, 3) - Install [3x]
- For the selection of the right bearing measure the crankshaft bearing journals. Crankshaft and Bearing Cleaning and Inspection
- Also measure the bearing bore diameter in the cylinder block. Engine Block Cleaning and Inspection

- NOTE:
If the old crankshaft bearing is reused, install it in the same position as removed.
Crankshaft Thrust Bearing (1) - Install
Crankshaft (1) - Install
Check the 2 crankshaft thrust bearings (1) for proper seat.
- NOTE:
- Ensure that the guide lugs (1) are properly seated.
- If the old crankshaft bearing was reused, set it in as removed.
Crankshaft Lower Bearing (2) - Install [4x]
- NOTE:
Install the components in the same position as removed.
Crankshaft Bearing Cap (2) - Install [4x]
- Crankshaft Bearing Cap Bolt (1) - Install NEW [8x]

CAUTION:CAUTION:Tighten in sequence
- First Pass: 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 160 degrees. Use the special tool: EN-45059-A Angle Meter.
