Crankshaft Balancer Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Fig 1: Identifying Accessory Drive Primary Belt Routing (LIH)

    Accessory Drive Primary Belt (1) - Remove - Accessory Drive Primary Belt Replacement 

  2. Starter - Remove - Starter Replacement (LIH)

    EN-52476  Flywheel Locking Tool (1) - Install

  4. NOTE:

    The stud must be installed to the upper hole and the bolt to the lower hole. An exchange can be lead to engine damage.

  5. Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x]

    Crankshaft Balancer Bolt (3) - Remove and DISCARD

  7. Crankshaft Balancer (1) - Remove

Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Check that the notch of the crankshaft balancer sits correct in the key (2).

    Crankshaft Balancer (1) - Install

  2. Crankshaft Balancer Bolt (3) - Install NEW - Do NOT tighten.
  3. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 150 N.m (111 lb ft)
  4. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 150 degrees, use the EN-45059  Angle Meter while fixing the crankshaft balancer.

  6. Starter - Install - Starter Replacement (LIH)
