Equivalent regional tools: Special Tools
- NOTE:
Observe the identification and alignment marks on the vacuum hose end (1). These marks indicate which end matches the turbocharger (TC); and alignment of the vacuum hose at the turbocharger housing (2).
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Vacuum Hose (3) @ Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger - Install NEW
- NOTE:
The hose clamps come loosely installed on the NEW positive crankcase ventilation vacuum hose. The hose clamps can be re-positioned when necessary.
Observe the orientation of the hose clamp and ensure the EN-52875 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Hose Clamp Installer will have sufficient room to engage and rotate to secure the hose clamp.
- Install EN-52875 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Hose Clamp Installer handle (3) onto the NEW positive crankcase ventilation vacuum hose clamp (1).
- Install EN-52875 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Hose Clamp Installer ratchet (2) into the handle (3), and engaging the hose clamp (1).
- Press down on the EN-52875 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Hose Clamp Installer thumb lever (4) to lock and engage the ratchet (2).
- NOTE:
The hose clamp is properly tightened when the ratchet becomes more difficult to turn, and the hose clamp band compresses flush with the positive crankcase ventilation vacuum hose.
Holding the EN-52875 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Hose Clamp Installer (1) steady with one hand, use the ratchet (2) to tighten the positive crankcase ventilation vacuum hose clamp.
Once the positive crankcase ventilation vacuum hose clamp is suitably tightened, rotate the entire EN-52875 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Hose Clamp Installer (1) upwards, approximately 90 degrees.
- Holding the EN-52875 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Hose Clamp Installer upward, rotate the bottom lever (2) downwards to cut the excess clamp band.
- Using a suitable tool, bend the hose clamp band backward and down against the hose clamp.
Turbocharger Heat Shield (2) - Install NEW
- Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Washer (3) - Install NEW
- Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger (1) - Install
- Turbocharger Nut (4) - Install NEW - Do NOT tighten. [4x]
Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Tank Solenoid Valve Tube (3) @ Turbocharger - Install
- Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (2) - Install - Do NOT tighten.
- Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Bolt (1) - Install - Do NOT tighten.
-
CAUTION:CAUTION:
Turbocharger Nut (1) - Tighten in sequence [4x]
- First Pass: 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
- Second Pass: 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 60 degrees - Use the EN-45059-A Angle Meter
Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (2) - Tighten 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
- Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Bolt (1) - Tighten 32 N.m (24 lb ft)
The cut edges of the hose clamp band may be sharp. Observe the end of the hose clamp band. Cut additional band if too much excess band still remains.
All components at turbocharger side of oil feed pipe must be free of oil to ensure that proper torque is reached when tightening bolt at the turbocharger. Failure to ensure components are free of oil can result in over torque of fastener and damage to either fastener or turbocharger.
Ensure all components, including threads in turbocharger at turbocharger side of oil feed pipe, are clean and free of debris. If necessary, clean all components with Low VOC brake cleaner or equivalent. Avoid allowing excessive cleaner to enter turbocharger.
