Inspection Procedure

  1. Fig 1: Exploded View Of Timing Belt Components For Cleaning And Inspection

    Inspect the timing belt (1) and oil pump belt (7) for cracking, abrasion, or wear. Replace either belt if contamination by cleaning solvent is suspected.

  2. Balancer Shaft Drive Gear (2) - Inspect for damage
  3. Timing Belt Tensioner (3) - Inspect for damage
  4. Timing Belt Idler Pulley (4) - Inspect for damage
  5. Crankshaft Sprocket (5) - Inspect for damage
  6. Balancer Shaft (6) - Inspect for damage
  7. Camshaft Sprocket Actuator Valve Bolt (8) - Inspect for damage [2x]
  8. Camshaft Sprocket (9) - Inspect for damage [2x]
