Removal Procedure

1. Automatic Transmission - Remove - Transmission Replacement (LIH)

   EN-52476  Flywheel Locking Tool (1) - Install

NOTE:

The stud must be installed to the upper hole and the bolt to the lower hole. An exchange can be lead to engine damage.

3. Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x]

   Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Bolt (2) - Remove and DISCARD [6x]

5. Automatic Transmission Flex Plate (1) - Remove

Installation Procedure

1. Clean the 6 crankshaft threads.

   NOTE:

   • Check the flex plate for damage before installation.
   • Check the guide pin for correct seat in the crankshaft.

   Automatic Transmission Flex Plate (1) - Install

3. Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Bolt (2) - Install NEW - Do NOT tighten. [6x]

   EN-52476  Flywheel Locking Tool (1) - Install

NOTE:

5. Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x]

   Torque-to-Yield Fastener Warning

   Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Bolt (1) - Tighten in the sequence shown. [6x]

   1. First Pass: 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
   2. Second Pass: 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
   3. Final Pass: 70 degrees - Use the special tool: EN-45059-A  Angle Meter
7. EN-52476  Flywheel Locking Tool - Remove
8. Automatic Transmission - Install - Transmission Replacement (LIH)
