Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Installation

Special Tools
- EN-45059-A Angle Meter
- EN-52476 Flywheel Locking Tool
Equivalent regional tools: Special Tools
- Clean the 6 crankshaft threads.
- NOTE:
- Check the flex plate for damage before installation.
- Check the guide pin for correct seat in the crankshaft.
Automatic Transmission Flex Plate (1) - Install
- Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Bolt (2) - Install NEW - Do NOT tighten. [6x]
- NOTE:
Ensure the EN-52476 Flywheel Locking Tool (1) is properly assembled, and the timing pin plunger (3) is retracted. When using the EN-52476 Flywheel Locking Tool as a locking device, adjust the pawl armature (4) to fully engage the teeth once installed.
EN-52476 Flywheel Locking Tool (1) - Install
- Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x]
- Adjust the pawl armature (4) on the EN-52476 Flywheel Locking Tool to fully engage the teeth.

CAUTION:CAUTION:NOTE:Ensure the EN-52476 Flywheel Locking Tool timing pin plunger remains retracted during bolt removal and installation. Ensure the pawl armature is fully engaged to the teeth and the armature is secured.
Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Bolt (1) - Tighten in the sequence shown. [6x]
- First Pass: 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
- Second Pass: 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 70 degrees - Use the special tool: EN-45059-A Angle Meter
