Installation Procedure

  1. Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve (1) - Install NEW and hand tighten

    CAUTION:

    The camshaft position actuator solenoid valves must be kept parallel to the engine front cover during removal and installation. The camshaft position actuator solenoid valves can be damaged if they become wedged or stuck during this process.

    NOTE:

    It is possible to push the camshaft rearward when installing the camshaft position actuator Valve. Please be careful not to push the camshaft while installing the camshaft position actuator valve.

  2. Install the EN-52287  Balancer Holding Kit (3) and EN-956-1  Extension Bar (2) to the crankshaft balancer (4).
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  3. Hold EN-52287  Balancer Holding Kit (3) and EN-956-1  Extension Bar (2) and tighten the New camshaft position actuator solenoid valve (1). Fastener Specifications
  4. Remove EN-52287  Balancer Holding Kit (3) and EN-956-1  Extension Bar (2) from the crankshaft balancer (4).
  5. Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Gasket (1) - Install NEW

  6. Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet (2) - Install
  7. Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Bolt (2) - Install and hand tighten [3x]

    8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Bolt (2) - Tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  9. Connect the camshaft position actuator magnet electrical connector (1) to the camshaft position actuator magnet.
  10. Water Pump Gasket (2) - Install NEW [2x]

  11. Water Pump Housing Bolt (1) - Install
  12. Water Pump Housing Bolt (1) - Install and hand tighten all fasteners prior to performing the torque sequence. [6x]

    NOTE:

    Clean all water pump bolts and apply threadlocker. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  13. Water Pump Housing Bolt - Tighten in sequence [6x] - Fastener Specifications
  14. Air Conditioning Compressor (1) - Install

  16. Air Conditioning Compressor Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  17. Air Conditioning Compressor Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  18. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

  19. Radiator Inlet Hose (3) @ - Install

  20. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (2) @Water Pump - Install
  21. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  22. Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @Water Pump - Install

  24. Heater Water Auxiliary Pump Hose (3) @Water Pump - Install

  26. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  27. Generator (1) - Install

  28. Generator Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  29. Generator Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  30. Starter Solenoid Cable (2) - Install

  31. Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  32. Electrical Connector (3) - Connect
    33. NOTE:

    The OEM replacement stretchy belt is packaged with a disposable installation tool and installation instructions.

  33. Install the air conditioning belt following the instructions included with the belt.
  34. Inspect the belt (1) for proper installation and alignment.

  35. Rotate the balancer (1) an additional 360 degrees to ensure proper belt installation.

  36. Position the accessory drive primary belt (4) on the belt idler pulley (2), fan and water pump pulley (3) and generator (1).

  37. Install the EN-51767-2  Stretchy Belt Installer (1) onto the crankshaft balancer.

  38. Position the accessory drive primary belt (2) on the crankshaft balancer.

  39. Slowly rotate the crankshaft balancer in a clockwise direction until the accessory drive primary belt (2) fully seats on the crankshaft balancer.
  40. Remove the EN-51767-2  Stretchy Belt Installer (1) from the crankshaft balancer.
  41. Inspect the accessory drive primary belt (1) for proper installation and alignment.

  42. Rotate the crankshaft balancer (1) and additional 360 degrees to ensure proper accessory drive primary belt installation.

  53. Electrical Connector (1) - Connect
  54. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  55. Position the wiring harness. (2)

  74. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (3) - Install

  75. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Tighten [2x]
  76. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  77. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  78. Install the engine wiring harness to the air cleaner outlet duct bracket.
  79. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  80. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 L84, L87) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static L84, L87)
  81. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
