Installation Procedure

  1. Engine Oil Level Indicator Switch O-Ring Seal (3) - Install NEW

  2. Engine Oil Level Indicator Switch (2) - Install
  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Engine Oil Level Sensor Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  5. Engine Oil Level Sensor Lead Clip (4) - Install
  6. Crankshaft Oil Deflector (2) - Install

  7. Crankshaft Oil Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [10x] - Fastener Specifications
  8. Apply a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant on the oil pan (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  9. Apply a 5 mm (0.197 in) bead of RTV sealant on the oil pan (2). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
  10. Oil Pan High Pressure Port Seal (2) - Install NEW [2x]

  11. Oil Pan Front Seal (3) - Install NEW
  12. Oil Pan (1) - Install

  13. Oil Pan Bolt (2, 3) - Install and hand tighten [16x]
  14. Oil Pan Bolt (2, 3) - Tighten in sequence [16x] - Fastener Specifications

  35. Connect the wiring harness connectors (3) and retainers as needed.

  56. Heater Water Auxiliary Pump Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  57. Electrical Connector@Heater Coolant Pump (2) - Connect

    NOTE:

    Support the front stabilizer shaft.

  58. Front Stabilizer Shaft (3) - Install
  59. Front Stabilizer Shaft Clamp (2) - Install [2x]
  60. If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  61. Front Stabilizer Shaft Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  62. Engine Oil Cooler Hose Clip (1) - Secure

  68. Lower the vehicle.
  69. Oil Level Indicator Tube Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  71. Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil.
  72. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  73. Check for oil leaks.
