Front Caster and Camber Adjustment

    NOTE:

Caster measurements are now relative to ground.

  1. The caster and camber adjustments are made by rotating the front lower control arm bolt and cam in the slotted frame bracket in order to reposition the front lower control arm.
  2. Jounce the front bumper 3 times to allow the vehicle to return to normal height.
  3. NOTE:

For an accurate reading, do not push or pull on the tires during the alignment process.

  4. For an accurate caster and camber measurement and adjustment, ensure that the vehicle is at curb height. Trim Height Inspection

  10. NOTE:

While performing a front end alignment it may be noticed that the frame pins (2) are missing. The frame pins serve as a pilot for the alignment cams when adjusting the front caster and camber.

  11. If a frame pin (2) is missing, a 1/4 inch dowel rod or a punch can be utilized as a temporary alignment aid to properly center the cam to the bracket, while making adjustments and torquing the front lower control arm nuts (4).
  12. Adjust the caster and the camber angle by turning the front lower control arm adjust bolts (3) until the specifications have been met. When the adjustments are complete, hold the front lower control arm adjust bolts (3) in order to ensure the position does not change while tightening the front lower control arm nuts.
