Removal Procedure

  1. Apply two layers of masking tape to the painted surface around the top edge of the air inlet grille panel extensions (1) to prevent paint damage.

  2. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully release the air inlet grille panel extension clips.
  3. Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension (1) - Remove
  4. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal Retainer (1) - Remove

  5. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) - Remove
  6. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Steel Wheel)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Aluminum Wheel)
  7. { If equipped }Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove

  8. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

    Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.

  9. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  10. Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) - Remove

  14. Front Fender Insulator Retainer (1) - Remove

  15. Pull the front fender insulator (2) down and out from the front fender.
  16. Using the appropriate tool, release the foam insulation on the front compartment side rail baffle (1) from the fender.

  20. Extend the assist steps in the vehicle personal optimization chapter in the owners manual.
  21. NOTE:

    Closing the doors will not re-tract the assist steps.

  22. Scroll to Deploy Running Boards on the navigation screen.
  23. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  24. Retainer (1) - Disengage [3x]

  25. Assist Step Finish Cap Bolt (2) - Remove
  26. Assist Step Front Finish Cap (1) - Remove

  34. Open both front and rear side doors

  37. Using an appropriate trim tool, release the lower rocker panel molding retainers and pull the rocker panel molding (1) away from the body side outer panel.

  38. Using an appropriate trim tool, release the upper rocker panel molding retainers and pull the rocker panel molding (1) away from the body side outer panel.
  39. Rocker Panel Molding (1) - Remove
  40. Headlamp Bolt (1) - Remove

  41. NOTE:

    Apply a double layer of masking tape to the windshield to prevent damaging the windshield.

  42. Front Fender Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]
  43. Front Fender Bolt (3) - Loosen
  44. Front Fender Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
