Diagnostic Aids
- Follow the instructions in SI for Battery Inspection/Test and Battery Charging using the EL-50313 Midtronics GR8 or EL-52800 Exteq DCBS Battery Tester/Charger.
- Perform the Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test in order to verify the cause of the low battery, such as aftermarket equipment, Customer driving habits, etc. Refer to: Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test .
- OBD system DTCs may have set as a result of a low voltage condition. The DTCs need to be cleared with the scan tool.
- Use the scan tool to clear ALL DTCs prior to releasing the vehicle to the Customer.
- If the customer cannot provide the Proactive Alert, it can be obtained through Service Workbench Alerts
