Circuit/System Verification

Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off

NOTE:

The battery voltage should stabilize after a few minutes of turning the ignition/vehicle Off.

Test for 12.4 to 12.8 V between the test points: Battery Positive Post & Battery Negative Post
- If not between 12.4 and 12.8 V
  Refer to: Battery Inspection/Test
- Go to next step: If between 12.4 and 12.8 V
Engine - Running - For greater than 15 s
Headlamp - ON
Test for 13.4 to 15 V between the test points: Battery Positive Post & Battery Negative Post
- If not between 13.4 and 15 V
  Refer to: Charging System Test
- Go to next step: If between 13.4 and 15 V
Verify there are no communication DTC's set.
- If a communication DTC is set
  Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
- Go to next step: If a communication DTC is not set
Verify any of the DTC's P0615, P0616, or P0617 are not set
- if any of the DTC's are set
  Refer to: DTC P0615, P0616, or P0617 (KL9) , or DTC P0615, P0616, or P0617 (Without KL9)
- Go to next step: If any of the DTC's are not set
Verify any of the DTC's P3052, P3054, or P3056 are set current.
- If none of the DTCs are not set Current
1. Clear all DTCs.
2. Road test the vehicle and perform a minimum of 2 Autostart/Autostop events.
3. Verify any of the DTC's P3052, P3054, or P3056 have not reset.
  - If any of the DTC have reset
    Proceed to Step 9.
  - Go to next step: If any of the DTC's P3052, P3054, or P3056 have not reset
4. The condition may be an intermittent fault and is currently not present.
- Go to next step: If any of the DTCs are set Current
Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
Perform the scan tool control function: Starter Pinion Solenoid Actuator Relay - On and Off
Verify the engine is not cranking.
- If the engine is cranking
  Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Starter System Test
- Go to next step: If the engine is not cranking
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - T19 Power Supply Transformer Input/Output Circuit Test
