Removal Procedure
WARNING:
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without KL9) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With KL9)
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Tire and Wheel Assembly - Remove - Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Caliper and Bracket Assembly - Remove
- Support the caliper and bracket assembly with heavy mechanics wire.
- If reinstalling the original brake rotor, index mark the rotor to wheel hub relationship.
Brake Rotor Bolt (1) - Remove
Brake Rotor (1) - Remove
CAUTION:
Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from its mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected. Failure to support the caliper in this manner will cause the flexible brake hose to bear the weight of the caliper, which may cause damage to the brake hose and in turn may cause a brake fluid leak.
