Circuit/System Verification

Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
Verify no other DTCs are set.
- If other DTCs are set
  Diagnose other DTCs first. Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
- Go to next step: If no other DTCs are set
If applicable, perform the scan tool control function: Instrument Cluster Gauge Sweep
Verify the component activates: Gauge-Speed
- If any of the gauges does not sweep over its entire range
  Replace the component: P16 Instrument Cluster
- Go to next step: If all gauges sweep over their entire range
Verify the function: Gauge-Speed = Vehicle Speed.
- If not the specified state
  Replace the component: P16 Instrument Cluster
- Go to next step: If the specified state
Verify the function: Odometer Increments - Vehicle driving.
- If the parameter value does not increment
  Replace the component: P16 Instrument Cluster
- If the parameter displays the following: - - -
1. Verify the scan tool parameter: Odometer Lock Status = Inactive
  - If the parameter displays the following: Inactive
    Refer to: Circuit/System Testing A
  - Go to next step: If the parameter displays the following: Active
    Go to next step: Refer to: Circuit/System Testing B
- Go to next step: If the parameter value increments
All OK.
