With Scan Tool - Generation 2
- Perform the following steps:
- Vehicle - Outside
- Set the parking brake.
- Block the drive wheels.
- Engine - Idling - At normal operating temperature.
- Transmission Range - P
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Transmission Fluid Temperature = Warmer than 64°C (147°F)
- If 64°C (147°F) or colder
- Brake Pedal - Applied & Hold
- Transmission Range - D
- Engine Speed - 1200 to 1500 RPM - For 5 s
- Engine - Idling - For 10 s
- Transmission Range - P
- Repeat step 4
- Go to next step: If warmer than 64°C (147°F)
- Transmission Range - N - Wait 10 s before proceeding to the next step.
- Select: Module Diagnostics
- Select: Transmission Control Module
- Select: Configuration/Reset Functions
- Select: Transmission Adaptive Values Learn
- Follow the instructions on the scan tool.
Verify the scan tool procedure was successful.
- If the procedure was not successful
Refer to: Step 1
- Go to next step: If the procedure was successful
- If the procedure was not successful
- All OK.

When performing a brake torque procedure, the vehicle must be parked outdoors away from any buildings, people, or other vehicles. Failure to follow these precautions may result in severe vehicle damage, and/or serious bodily injury.
NOTE:
Allow the component to cool if warmer than 76°C (169°F).
