Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
  2. Verify no Engine Control Module, Transmission Control Module (if equipped), Instrument Cluster DTCs, or communication DTCs are set.
    • Go to next step: If no DTCs are set 
  3. Verify the tachometer moves from the minimum to the maximum position and back to the minimum position when performing the Instrument Cluster Gauge Sweep Test with the scan tool.
    • If tachometer does not sweep 

      Replace the P16 Instrument Cluster.

    • Go to next step: If tachometer sweeps properly 
  4. Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
