Component Testing

Static Test

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: B55 Hood Ajar Switch
  3. B55 Hood Ajar Switch = Closed
  4. Test for 2738 to 3350 Ω between the test points: Signal circuit terminal A & Signal circuit terminal B
    • If not between 2738 and 3350 Ω 

      Replace the component: B55 Hood Ajar Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 2738 and 3350 Ω 
  5. B55 Hood Ajar Switch = Closed
  6. Test for 658 to 806 Ω between the test points: Signal circuit terminal A & Signal circuit terminal C
    • If not between 658 and 806 Ω 

      Replace the component: B55 Hood Ajar Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 658 and 806 Ω 
  7. B55 Hood Ajar Switch = Closed
  8. Test for 2080 to 2545 Ω between the test points: Signal circuit terminal B & Signal circuit terminal C
    • If not between 2080 and 2545 Ω 

      Replace the component: B55 Hood Ajar Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 2080 and 2545 Ω 
  9. B55 Hood Ajar Switch = open
  10. Test for 2738 to 3350 Ω between the test points: Signal circuit terminal A & Signal circuit terminal B
    • If not between 2738 and 3350 Ω 

      Replace the component: B55 Hood Ajar Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 2738 and 3350 Ω 
  11. B55 Hood Ajar Switch = open
  12. Test for 2080 to 2545 Ω between the test points: Signal circuit terminal A & Signal circuit terminal C
    • If not between 2080 and 3545 Ω 

      Replace the component: B55 Hood Ajar Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 2080 and 3545 Ω 
  13. B55 Hood Ajar Switch = open
  14. Test for 658 to 806 Ω between the test points: Signal circuit terminal B & Signal circuit terminal C
    • If not between 658 and 806 Ω 

      Replace the component: B55 Hood Ajar Switch

    • Go to next step: If between 658 and 806 Ω 
  15. All OK.
