Power Transfer Unit Idler Shaft and Input Disconnect Shaft Removal

Power Transfer Unit Idler Shaft and Input Disconnect Shaft Removal

1 Power Transfer Unit Connect Spring
2 Power Transfer Input Connect Spring Clip
3 Power Transfer Unit Cover Housing Bolt [14x]
4 Power Transfer Unit Cover Housing
5 Power Transfer Unit Cover Housing Seal
6 Power Transfer Unit Input Shaft
Procedure 
Remove both the input disconnect and idler gear shafts from the case at the same time.
NOTE:

DO NOT remove the input disconnect bearing races from the case half or cover. The case, cover, input disconnect shaft, and input disconnect bearings and races are not available as separate service parts. If component replacement is required, the power transfer unit is to be replaced as an assembly.

7 Power Transfer Unit Idler Shaft
Procedure 
Remove both the input disconnect and idler gear shafts from the case at the same time.
NOTE:

DO NOT remove the input disconnect bearing races from the case half or cover. The case, cover, input disconnect shaft, and input disconnect bearings and races are not available as separate service parts. If component replacement is required, the power transfer unit is to be replaced as an assembly.
