Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Apply pressure on the piston (1) to release tension from the pawl (3).
- Rotate the lever (2) counter-clockwise.
- Push the piston (1) inward until fully depressed, then release the lever (2).
Slowly relieve tension from the piston (1) until it extends three clicks.
- Install a suitable pin (2) as shown to lock the tensioner.
Timing Chain Tensioner Gasket (3) - Install NEW
- Timing Chain Tensioner (2) - Install
- Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
- Remove the tensioner locking pin.
Verify the timing links on the timing chain are properly aligned to the timing marks:
- The timing links (1, 2) are aligned to the appropriate timing marks on the camshaft actuators (6, 3).
- The unique colored link (5) is aligned to the timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket (4).
